Just before that, a student , with 91%percent mark in board exam, class VIII, entered at his room to seek some information for has this admission in this. Mr. choudhary happily received him his future aim in life . The boy confidently repplied that he wanted to be an engineer and a good person .

I too liked to talk to him especially on his desire to be good person . a good engineer , a good doctor , a good teacher or good person contributes a lot to the seciety in terms of good they do it other even at cost of their own suffering . good people have always conteributed to the genuie welfare of the common and needy people . it futher led me to think that to help a student become an engineer may not be a problem for the schools , in big cities , have devloped way and means to prepair student to compete for a entry in to engineering and other proffesnal courses but to make a student a good person in life , i could not think of any well defined program that ensure entry to life with a goodness . education on human values , no doubt , is much talked about , is much talked about topic there days and even orranigation like UNESCO have been recommending value oriented education as an cure to the pollued social order spread all over the world but schools in general , have yet to find a workable program in there curriculum for value based edution for student values are picked up by student by observing the role of their elders , teacher , perents etc in practical life . peraching on values may not help much in inculcating values among students .

at least , teachers and perents who are in immediate contact with students , should feel the importance of value based education and also believe in such values .

the time honoured values of country are-truth, trust, non-violence, love , peace, forgiveness and friendship . these values if inculcated among students , can spread goodness in the world .

with a changing times, some modern values have also to be adopted to adjust and live as a socially efficient citizen. some of the values are intellectual curiosity , keep observation rational thinking , critical thinking , intellectual honesty and perseverance. happy develop a balanced person successful for life and for living
